‘It’s good to be home.’ Scotiabank Arena rocks for the Raptors for the first time since February 2020

It’s been a while, but the Raptors haven’t forgotten how to get Scotiabank Arena rocking.

Six hundred days after the team last played at its home venue — a relatively forgettable loss to the Charlotte Hornets on the penultimate day of February 2020 —the festivities surrounding Wednesday’s season opener almost made it feel like the team had never left.

“Can’t wait to play in front of that packed house, in front of the crowd, bring a lot of energy,” Scottie Barnes, the city’s new favourite Raptor and Toronto’s top draft pick this summer, said Tuesday.
