Success is relative, and while the Toronto Raptors had a large measure of it in the calendar year of 2018, it was not enough for team president Masai Ujiri.
Coming off the best NBA season in franchise history, the Raptors went through a tumultuous off-season at Ujiri’s behest, changing coaches and franchise players because good wasn’t good enough.

In a whirlwind two months following another post-season decimation at the hands of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Ujiri fired coach Dwane Casey in early May, hired Nick Nurse to replace him in early June, and traded iconic all-star DeMar DeRozan and bit pieces for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green.
