Kawhi Leonard said Wednesday that he didn’t know why a helicopter was following his vehicle after he flew back to Toronto earlier this month to talk to the Raptors as he was deciding which NBA team to sign with.
The journey of a black van from Pearson airport to downtown Toronto was broadcast live on news station CP24 via helicopter, one of the strangest developments in the weeklong pursuit of the coveted free agent by the Raptors, the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers.
Fans also waited outside a Toronto hotel on July 3 as Leonard and his team met with Raptors management.
