VICTORIA—He has become something of a household name in the Instagram and social media age, not the first off-season developmental coach to work with NBA players but certainly the one most familiar in these parts because of his summer time efforts with a group of Raptors.
But Rico Hines himself will tell you, he’s not revolutionizing the game.
“I think the game always changes but the fundamentals stay the same,” the new Raptors assistant coach said here Thursday. “All you do is try to keep up with how the game is changing from a technical standpoint.
