Golden State’s DeMarcus Cousins gets better just in time for first Finals

DeMarcus Cousins had faith his turn would come.

The 28-year-old Golden State Warriors centre has had more than his share of unfair in the past 17 months. He ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left leg in January 2018, an injury that reduced his value on last summer’s free-agent market and laid the groundwork for a deal with the Warriors worth mid-level money.

Cousins managed just 30 games, all starts, after working his way back for the second half of the season this past January, but went down with a right quadriceps injury in the second game of Golden State’s opening-round match up against the Los Angeles Clippers in April.
