Fred VanVleet lived up to his nickname in the Raptors’ 99-96 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena.
The Raptors looked like they were heading to a third straight loss thanks to another dismal performance from beyond the arc — shooting 14 per cent at one point — while the visitors controlled much of the play. But despite playing without point guard Kyle Lowry (thigh) plus centres Serge Ibaka (knee) and Jonas Valanciunas (thumb), the home side never trailed by much, setting the stage for Steady Freddy in crunch time.
