Game Centre: Short-handed Raptors lost from downtown in Philly

Having to rely almost solely on three-point shooting is generally not a good idea for an NBA team that doesn’t shoot particularly well from three-point range. So it comes as little surprise that the Raptors misfired themselves to a 126-101 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

The absence of Kawhi Leonard (rest), Serge Ibaka (knee) and Jonas Valanciunas (thumb) made Toronto even more reliant on long-range shooting than normal, and they simply weren’t good enough. The Raptors were a miserable 10-for-40 from three-point range, and every time they needed a big shot to swing the momentum of the game, someone missed an open look.
