SAN ANTONIO—Jonas Valanciunas is understandably frustrated by the sprained ankle that has him on the shelf early in the NBA season but he is not crushed.
“It’s really disappointing but it’s a good thing that it’s not something major, it’s not going to be like I’m out for months,” the Raptors centre said Monday morning. “It’s really frustrating after we had such a good start . . . but we’ll clean it up quick and I’ll be back in no time.”
Valanciunas had been one of Toronto’s best players through the exhibition season and had an impressive 23-point, 15-rebound game in the Raptors’ season opener.
