Foot injury sidelines Raptors’ Kawhi Leonard against Lakers

LOS ANGELES—Another Toronto Raptors game with a highly-anticipated individual showdown fizzled here Sunday night.

Kawhi Leonard sat out Toronto’s game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers because of “left foot soreness,” the team announced about 90 minutes before tipoff.

A foot injury has sidelined Raptors star Kawhi Leonard for Sunday night’s game against the Lakers.

Leonard hurt his left foot in Friday’s victory in Phoenix and did some work at Saturday’s practice before being declared out.

In the Raptors’ first 10 games this season, Leonard has missed three; the last time he sat out was against the Milwaukee Bucks, who didn’t have all-star Giannis Antetokounmpo in their lineup.
