The 10th made three-pointer for the Toronto Raptors came from Fred VanVleet in the final minute of the third quarter on Tuesday night and if there was any proof of the way they’ve changed their style of play for the better, that was it.
It marked the 38th time this season the team has made at least 10 long-distance shots in a game, eclipsing their total over an entire 82-game schedule last season as they move into the shoot-early, shoot-often mode that dominates the NBA these days.
And it works.
VanVleet’s make, part of what ended up being a 13-three-pointer night for Toronto, helped the Raptors to a 115-112 victory over the Miami Heat in their final Air Canada Centre game before the week-long all-star break starts Thursday.
