Early daze leads to the Raptors’ first loss of the season in Boston

Raptors coach Nick Nurse was explaining at the team’s shootaround in Boston on Friday morning that it’s truly early days in the NBA season and things will eventually get figured out, and it’s not vital that it happens immediately because “they aren’t handing anything out right now.”

Good thing.

In a game that was played with high intensity but a spotty skill level for long stretches, the Raptors coughed up a 112-106 decision to the Celtics at TD Garden. Despite some good offensive production from Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry, the Raptors couldn’t overcome their own mistakes in dropping to 1-1 on the season.
