Dr. Kyle Lowry’s message to the Acadia graduating class: ‘How will you pay it forward?”

There may be no clarity to Kyle Lowry’s future with the Toronto Raptors after this season but he can now lay claim to something no other player in franchise history can: a doctorate from a Canadian university.

The 35-year-old Philadelphia native was bestowed an honorary doctor of humanities degree from Acadia University on Sunday, a crowning achievement for the veteran considered by many to be the best player in franchise history.

In a virtual address to Acadia’s graduating class on Sunday, Lowry challenged the students of the Wolfville, N.S., school to become as service-minded as he has been in Philadelphia and Toronto.
