DeRozan, Raptors outlast Wiggins, Timberwolves

The standings would suggest a meeting between the Toronto Raptors and Minnesota Timberwolves should be a routine affair.

The Raptors’ 38-18 recordis almost the mirror image of what the young, still building T-Wolves have (18-40). But with Vaughan’s Andrew Wiggins playing in front of his hometown crowd, and Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan intent on getting his team a win in an unlikely playoff atmosphere, Wednesday night’s 114-106 win delivered.

Wiggins, with 26 points, and DeRozan, with a game-high 31, went back-and-forth in what turned out to be an emotional game that saw Raptors backup guard Terrence Ross ejected in the third quarter.
