DeMar DeRozan won't suit up for the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans due to a sore right ankle.
The Raptors say DeRozan, voted an Eastern Conference All-Star starter last month, experienced some swelling in the ankle after Sunday's loss to the Orlando Magic. He had missed Toronto's three games before that due to the ankle but still managed 22 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Raptors say Tuesday's move is precautionary.
The All-Star Game is Feb. 19 in New Orleans. The Raptors have lost six of their last 10 games.
