With nearly every step he took, outside the locker room in the bowels of the Scotiabank Arena or courtside an hour or so before tipoff, Danny Green had to stop.
A hug here, a handshake there, more hellos than he might have imagined and it wasn’t hard to see why the ex-Raptor waited so long for such a special moment.
“It’s great,” he said in a quick conversation between TV interviews. “Great to see everyone again.”
Green, now a member of the Philadelphia 76ers, was back in the arena on Thursday for the first time since June 2019, and he finally got the NBA championship ring he earned with the Raptors that year.
