Cory Joseph leaves Raptors as C.J. Miles joins up in S & T deal

The news is coming thick and fast from the Air Canada Centre. The Toronto Raptors are in final negotiations to move point guard Cory Joseph. The usual suspects inform us that the beloved CoJo is on his way to Indiana. In return, the Pacers will sign and trade free-agent swingman C.J. Miles.

Financially the deal will have almost no impact on the Raptors. Miles will cost perhaps a million dollars more than Cory Jo per season.

Assuming the deal proceeds, I’m prepared to call it a winner for Masai Ujiri. While Joseph fulfilled a special role as the Raptors’ only Canadian, he was otherwise redundant.
