Kyle Lowry is closing in on a quarter of a season as a de facto NBA assistant coach and he continues to flourish in the job.
He’s not calling every set or suggesting substitution patterns or devising game-end strategy but the injured Toronto Raptors point guard is engaged as he ever was, even if he can’t have a direct impact on any game.
Recovering from last month’s surgery to clean out some loose bodies from his right wrist, Lowry is still an integral part of what the Raptors are doing, and head coach Dwane Casey appreciates it.
