Christmas comes early for Raptors fans with holiday schedule buzz

Winning an NBA championship has earned the Raptors a marquee spot on the league’s schedule for the 2019-20 season.

According to multiple reports, Toronto will host a Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics this season, giving the Raptors a slot on the bloated holiday schedule for just the second time in franchise history.

The game — at a time still to be announced — will be the first in Toronto and will be part of not only the team’s championship celebration but also its 25-year anniversary. The Raptors lost a desultory game to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in 2001 in their only other Christmas Day outing.
