Chris Boucher runs with bigger role in Raptors’ injury-riddled cast

Chris Boucher is an intriguing bundle of energy and athleticism and potential, but the most important trait he may possess is patience.

The patience to sit and watch and wait, to keep that promise basically hidden while older, more experienced and better Raptors big men did all the heavy lifting.

Now pressed into regular action, though, he’s taken the responsibility and handled it well as a key frontcourt piece — in the absence of injured Serge Ibaka — that’s keeping Toronto more than afloat.

“I’ve been waiting a long time,” Boucher said during the Raptors’ extended road trip that wrapped up Saturday night in Dallas.
