Chris Boucher is off to a wonderful start this season with the Raptors, shooting an astonishing percentage from three-point range, blocking shots like a madman and running the floor with abandon. It’s hard to imagine where the team would be without his performance.
But for all he has given them, there is more he could be giving. It is a curse of great play: There’s always something a player can be doing better.
That is not to take away from Boucher, who has been spectacular at times and consistent like he has never been.
He has solidified the glaring weakness on the roster as a small-ball centre who affects games with energy and shooting rather than bulk and brawn.
