They’ve got all the political capital that could be imagined within the walls of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to do pretty much whatever they want with their basketball team.

It’s just a question of whether they want to go down the road that probably needs to be travelled.

So far, this has in many ways been an extraordinary year in Toronto basketball. All those injuries, on top of losing Kawhi Leonard and not replacing him, haven’t stopped the Raptors from being very competitive and often excellent.
