Zach Hyman fined for high-sticking

Toronto’s Zach Hyman has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for High-sticking Winnipeg’s Neal Pionk.

The fine system used by the NHL is totally separate from the salary forfeited when suspended, and it is capped at $5,000. The current NHL Player Safety regime is much more fond of levelling these fines than past versions of that department, and there is no real reason to think most players care about the money at that level.
