On Friday, Toronto Sun columnist Steve Simmons reported that Leafs star Auston Matthews has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The story reads that Matthews has apparently gone into quarantine at his home in Arizona.
The news comes on the same day that three players of the Tampa Bay Lightning were confirmed to have contracted the virus.
Matthews had 47 goals at the time of the NHL’s shutdown of the season on March 12.
