The Toronto Maple Leafs have been without John Tavares for the last eight games with a lower-body injury that he suffered against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 15.
After going through the recovery process for about three weeks, the team believes that Tavares could officially return to the lineup on Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens. Furthermore, he skated in the regular practice sweater on Friday after wearing the red non-contact sweater at Tuesday's practice.
"I would think most likely he's going to play," Maple Leafs head coach Jim Hiller said after practice. "Still have to talk about it, but sure looks like it.
