Toronto FC announced this morning that they’ve re-signed midfielder Victor Vazquez to a multi-year contract extension, in the midst of his second year with the club. This will surely set a lot of fans’ minds at rest, as rumours had begun to swirl about the Spaniard’s desire to return to Europe after this year.
Vazquez, as you all know, came to TFC from Cruz Azul last winter, with the Reds coming off the back of their heartbreaking 2016 MLS Cup loss to the Seattle Sounders. He fit into the lineup as the attacking midfielder they needed, helping drive a lethal attack toward the MLS points record and the Cup.
