TORONTO, Canada—Major League Soccer announced on Tuesday that Toronto FC’s first game against D.C. United, originally set to take place on July 10, will now be played on Sunday, July 12 thanks to the Reds’ late arrival.
The game will also take place at 9 a.m. EST instead of 8 p.m. as a result.
TFC were initially scheduled to travel to Orlando on July 3, but sought out an extra day due to the COVID-19 situation in Florida. A day later, the team announced they had to delay their trip from Toronto after a member of their travel party reported experiencing symptoms related to COVID.
