TORONTO, Canada—Toronto FC have learned its first-round MLS Cup Playoffs opponent, as the Reds will welcome expansion side Nashville SC to their ‘home away from home’, Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut, on Tuesday.
Nashville triumphed past a shorthanded Inter Miami CF squad (3-0) Friday evening in the play-in round to advance. Earlier in the day, it was reported that several Miami players, including brothers Gonzalo and Frederico Higuain, would be forced to miss the playoff encounter after testing positive for COVID-19.
Toronto and Nashville, who joined the league this season, have yet to square off.
