Toronto FC have learned who their first round opponent will be for the 2019 Concacaf Champions League. They’ll be heading down to Panama to play Independiente FC in the round of 16.
If TFC were hoping for a lighter travel schedule, this ain’t it. The club otherwise known as CAI Panama, based in La Chorrera, will be a tough away date. Still, the Reds will be happy to have avoided a tougher matchup like Sporting Kansas City.
TFC’s side of the bracket is shaping up to be a tough one, though, with Monterrey, Toluca, and Atlanta United in their path.
