Toronto FC announced this morning that they've signed 24-year-old midfielder Richie Laryea to a first-team deal. Laryea, 24, was most recently with Orlando City, where he made 21 appearances over two seasons.
Laryea went seventh overall to Orlando in the 2016 SuperDraft, spending his first season with the organization in the USL at Orlando City B.
After Orlando declined Laryea’s contract option this past offseason, he took a trial with his hometown club, Toronto FC. It seems he impressed the Reds’ staff enough to earn himself a contract.
Laryea, who has also represented Canada at the U-23 level, hails from Toronto.
