Toronto FC settles for draw against Philadelphia Union

Sebastian Giovinco leaves pitch with leg bruise, as Reds get a draw on road for second game in a row.

Philadelphia Union's Derrick Jones, left, gets pushed by Toronto FC's Eriq Zavaleta as they go for the ball during the second half on Saturday in Chester, Pa. The match ended in a 2-2 tie.

CHESTER, PA.—Toronto FC trailed after only 10 minutes, lost playmaker Sebastian Giovinco before halftime to a leg bruise and still escaped Talen Energy Stadium with a 2-2 draw against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night.

Even so, a second-straight road draw felt like an opportunity lost as much as a storm weathered to coach Greg Vanney and his defending Eastern Conference championship side.
