Clint Irwin is a Red no longer.
The Toronto FC goalkeeper, who played 25 games in his only season in the city, was selected by Atlanta United FC in the third round of Major League Soccer’s expansion draft Tuesday afternoon.
Irwin was one of 11 TFC players vulnerable for selection by incoming franchises Atlanta and Minnesota United FC.
Each team selected five players over the course of the draft from a 259-player pool; once Irwin was chosen, Toronto’s remaining 10 players were no longer available to either side.
The 27-year-old was widely regarded as one of the top names available on the list given his young age for a netminder, four seasons of MLS experience, his role as Toronto’s No.
