Starting the Major League Soccer season with an extended road trip for a second year in a row, Greg Vanney knows Toronto FC’s first eight games won’t go off without a hitch or two along the way.
“Things aren’t going to go perfect; we won’t win every game,” the coach said, before his team kicks off its season with a visit to last year’s Supporters Shield winners New York Red Bulls Sunday afternoon.
“We know there’s going to be challenges. We just have to stick with what we’re doing and we have to be resilient during a period where we know lots of things can go wrong, from plane flights being delayed to not being able to eat consistently.
