Toronto FC is getting used to winning — and not just the senior team.
The MLS champions’ under-17 academy will compete in the Generation adidas Cup starting March 23, a nine-day competition in Frisco, Texas featuring elite youth squads from top international clubs and 20 Major League Soccer programs.
TFC’s prospects finished first in regional qualifying, which began in October, and advanced to the Champions Division for the sixth straight year, something only FC Dallas has also accomplished. The young Reds will face academy sides from Argentina’s CA River Plate, Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt and DC United in the group stage.
