Eleven seasons into their Major League Soccer history, Toronto FC have recorded their 100th regular season victory. The club’s 2-0 win over DC United at BMO Field also kept the team in first place in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto FC dominated the first half in terms of possession, but a plucky DC United side were able to keep them from turning it into dangerous chances. As they held off Toronto, the visitors seemed to grow in confidence.
It took TFC an hour to find a breakthrough, with their designated players making the difference. A brilliant through ball from Sebastian Giovinco found its way to Jozy Altidore, who slotted home with the outside of his foot.
