Toronto FC dominated possession, but could not find a breakthrough in a 1-1 draw against 10-man D.C. United today.

TFC came out of the gate rather flat footed, allowing D.C. United several quality chances through the first few minutes of the match. In the sixth minute, Kofi Opare’s head off of a United corner kick found the corner of the net to give D.C. 1-0 lead.

D.C. United were able to head into the half with the lead, but went down to ten men just before the whistle. Lloyd Sam recklessly slid into the back of Chris Mavinga and was shown a straight red card.
