Just short of two months ago, Toronto FC had many scratching their heads when the club chose Tsubasa Endoh as its top pick at the MLS SuperDraft.
Despite being named most valuable player at January’s player combine, the selection caught even the Japanese rookie off guard. At the time, Endoh admitted he had been “pretty worried” about not getting drafted at all. Now the 22-year-old midfielder is likely to make his Major League Soccer debut in the Reds’ season opener against the New York Red Bulls.
