Toronto FC supporters will be in full voice on Tuesday night in Ohio when about 1,000 fans travel to catch their team taking on the Columbus Crew in the first leg of Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference final. But Reds fans will also be standing in solidarity with the home team’s fans, who are facing the possibility of losing their franchise.
Questions have loomed over the future of the Crew, one of 10 founding clubs in MLS, since mid-October, when it was first reported that chairman Anthony Precourt planned to move the club to Austin, Texas, in 2019 barring the construction of a downtown stadium.
