Toronto FC striker Jozy Altidore could barely walk when he scored the goal that sent the Reds to a second consecutive MLS Cup final.
Not three minutes into the second half of the second leg of the Eastern Conference final between Toronto and the Columbus Crew, Altidore was involved in something of a freak collision with visiting midfielder Harrison Afful. The two were nowhere near the ball when Afful slipped in his own team’s box, colliding into Altidore’s back on the way down and taking him out at the ankles.
The striker winced the moment he went down.
