Richie Laryea’s departure from Toronto FC to Nottingham Forest on a 3 1/2-year deal became official Saturday.
The 27-year-old wingback was a standout for TFC and the Canadian national team last year. After making a significant offer of their own to Laryea, the Reds will reportedly receive a $1-million (U.S.) transfer fee from the English second division club.
“It’d be another learning curve for me. It would be a different place, a different situation, and for me that’s what life is about: for me to take as many challenges as I can and see what I can do with them,” Laryea said in November of his dream to play abroad.
