The circus continues.
Not long after it came into the open that Toronto FC are pursuing Alejandro Pozuelo as a third Designated Player, it now seems that his current club — KRC Genk — are holding onto him a little tighter than we may have expected. The club has released a statement this morning stating (as far as I can tell — the website is in Flemish and they don’t have a French version) that they expect Pozuelo to remain in Belgium until June.
Genk have released a statement saying they agreed Alejandro Pozuelo would stay until June prior to TFC’s interest, which has turned his head.
