Toronto FC spent almost the entire second half in the D.C. United half, but couldn’t turn all that possession into a winning goal in a 1-1 draw. D.C., who spent the entire second half down to ten men after Lloyd Sam was sent off, deserve plenty of credit.
Not very many Toronto FC players will be happy with the performances they put against D.C. Nicolas Hasler had a fairly solid debut, and created a couple of chances. Likewise Victor Vazquez created a couple of chances as well. Toronto’s only goal, however, came off D.C. United defender Steve Birnbaum.
