Canada’s women’s national team made a positive start to its home-and-home doubleheader against the United States on Thursday night, securing a 1-1 draw in Vancouver. Adriana Leon, who had come on as a first-half substitute, scored after the break to cancel out Alex Morgan’s opener. Jessie Fleming, who will not celebrate her 20th birthday until March but was winning her 46th cap, impressed once again and PSG star Ashley Lawrence flew in late to join the squad and feature.
