Giovinco's set-piece prowess boosts his Audi Player Index total

With his 72nd-minute goal against the New York Red Bulls on Monday, Sebastian Giovinco gave Toronto a 2-1 lead heading to Sunday's second leg of the conference semifinals (5 p.m. ET, ESPN/WatchESPN).

The 27-yard goal came on a direct free kick, something Giovinco has seemingly mastered during his three MLS seasons.

Giovinco scored on six direct free kicks during the 2017 regular season, setting a league single-season record -- direct free kicks have been tracked since 2003 -- and , since joining MLS in 2015, he has a total of 14 goals on direct free kicks in the regular season and playoffs.
