For the first time in franchise history, Toronto FC is off to the Eastern Conference finals. The result was never really in doubt as Toronto FC dominated New York City FC en route to an easy 5-0 victory, 7-0 on aggregate at Yankee Stadium.
Sebastian Giovinco scored a hat-trick, with two of those goals coming in the first 20 minutes. Jozy Altidore and Jonathan Osorio added a goal each, while Clint Irwin had his second straight playoff clean sheet, although he didn't have much work.
It was a dream start to the match for Toronto FC, who scored a crucial away goal in just the sixth minute to go 3-0 up on aggregate.
