Galaxy visit kicks off busy stretch for Toronto FC

If Toronto FC had to choose a fellow Major League Soccer team to emulate, it could do worse than Saturday’s opponent Los Angeles Galaxy.

The Californian side is one of just two MLS teams that have claimed the Supporters’ Shield on four separate occasions, and stands alone as league leaders when it comes to MLS Cup wins, collecting five in its 21-year existence.

Sprinkle in victories in the U.S. Open Cup and the CONCACAF Champions League and you’ve got the most decorated club in the league.

Reds coach Greg Vanney knows that better than most.

During his days representing the Galaxy as a player, Vanney won three MLS Cups, one Supporters’ Shield, an Open Cup and a CONCACAF Champions Cup title.
