Toronto FC picked up just their second win of the summer last night, but it is an off-field incident that has garnered the majority of headlines after the match. The club’s travelling supporters are in hot water after setting a fire in the away section of TD Place last night during a 1-0 Canadian Championship win over the Ottawa Fury.
Accidental or not, it is not the first such incident to take place with travelling Toronto FC supporters. Pyrotechnics caused similar issues in Montreal and Columbus over the past few seasons, and has seen sanctions levied against Toronto supporters.
