The Generation Adidas program’s new focus on Canada has begun.
Shamit Shome, who played for FC Edmonton in the NASL last season, and Adonijah Reid, of ANB Futbol, have been signed to GA deals and will be available for selection in this year’s MLS SuperDraft on January 13.
Reid, a striker who was the joint-top goalscorer in League1 Ontario in 2015 at age 16, will be the youngest player to take part in the pre-draft combine. ANB Futbol left that league this year and Reid has most recently represented the club’s Under-20 team in the Soccer Academy Alliance Canada, winning the league and cup competitions.
