Davies, David score as Canada advances to next stage of 2022 World Cup Qualifying

TORONTO, Canada—Inject that headline into our veins!

The Canadian stars shone bright Tuesday night as Jonathan David scored three times, while Alphonso Davies opened the scoring as the Canadian men’s national team are off to the second round of World Cup Qualifying after a massive 4-0 win over Suriname in Bridgeview, Illinois.

After both teams had chances early in the first half, with Suriname hitting the crossbar before Toronto FC fullback Richie Laryea smashed one off the post, Canada would open the scoring in the 37th minute.

Who else, but Davies—picked out by David—would find his way in behind the Suriname defence, using his pace to secure his position, before calmly slotting home.
