On February 8th, 2018, AS USA reported that Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps FC were rumoured to be interested in Club America striker Darwin Quintero. Toronto FC seemedd to be ahead of Vancouver in the race for the Colombian, as they reportedly already tabled an offer around $5 million for the striker.
But now it looks as if neither Vancouver or Toronto will be picking up their target, as Minnesota United FC are about to announce the striker’s signing imminently. This isn’t just simply guessing that Minnesota is close to signing Quintero as their first designated player soon, but he has already arrived in Minnesota, met some of the Loons players, and has even changed his Twitter biography to stating that he is a part of Minnesota United FC.
