Jozy Altidore was encouraged by Toronto FC’s attacking play with Sebastian Giovinco back in the lineup but admitted the defensive side of their game must improve if they are to contend for the MLS Cup.
Altidore scored one goal and created the other, a late equaliser for Tosaint Ricketts, as the Reds battled to earn a 2-2 draw against the Montreal Impact.
“I thought we did enough to probably win the game,” Altidore said afterwards.
“Obviously, soccer’s two ways, right - we did enough on the attacking end, probably, to win the game but defensively we weren’t as good as we want to be and as good as we know we can be.
